Freddie Boston: DT Adam Gotsis, Georgia Tech

Previous picks: DE Noah Spence, DT Austin Johnson, ILB Kentrell Brothers, TE Nick Vannett, OT Alex Lewis, OG Landon Turner, OLB Victor Ochi

It’s a strong class for defensive linemen, so why not go grab another? Austin Johnson — my second-round draft choice — will have a more immediate impact on the Packers’ defense, but Georgia Tech’s Adam Gotsis could add some valuable depth late on day three.

Gotsis, a 6-foot-4 287-pound lineman, is a run-stuffer whose draft stock will fall due to suffering a season-ending knee injury last October. All signs point to him making a full recovery in time for the 2016 season, but he will need to pass the team’s medical checks.

Gotsis will likely only be a two-down player at the next level, but hey, not everyone can be a star. He has the potential to become a starter down the line, and if he does a great job at stopping the run then who cares if he comes off on obvious passing downs?

What Gotsis would do is offer some valuable depth at the position and with some development, he can become a useful role player up front.
