No. 5: 2013

1 Datone Jones, DE, UCLA
2 Eddie Lacy, RB, Alabama
4 David Bakhtiari, OT, Colorado
4 JC Tretter, OT, Cornell
4 Jonathan Franklin, RB, UCLA
5 Micah Hyde, CB, Iowa
5 Josh Boyd, DE, Mississippi State
6 Nate Palmer, OLB, Illinois State
7 Charles Johnson, WR, Grand Valley State
7 Kevin Dorsey, WR, Maryland
7 Sam Barrington, LB, South Florida

While Datone Jones is yet to live up to the billing of a first-round pick, there were a number of successful selections in 2013.

Eddie Lacy (2015 season excluded), helped achieve balance on an offense that had been one-dimensional for far too long. His role as the bruiser in the backfield has made defenses pick their poison in numerous games. Fellow running back Jonathan Franklin’s career was sadly cut short by injury.

David Bakhtiari has locked down a role as the team’s starting left tackle, and he’s been a rock at the position ever since. JC Tretter can consider himself unlucky not to be a regular starter on the line also, but he’s stepped up at crucial times when called upon.

Micah Hyde offers great depth to the Packers’ secondary, and seventh-rounder Sam Barrington is poised to lock down a starting job at inside linebacker after a season out through injury.

All in all, this was a strong class.
