13. Ha Ha Clinton-Dix (Freddie’s pick)

It’s easy to forget just how badly the Packers needed a safety in 2014. Morgan Burnett needed a dance partner in the defensive backfield, and he finally got one when Green Bay selected Alabama safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

And to say Clinton-Dix has delivered would be a major understatement. In such a short space of time, the pairing has become one of the league’s very best. A weakness on the roster has become a strength.

In 2015, Clinton-Dix was ranked eighth among 89 graded safeties by Pro Football Focus. Burnett was fourth. The only other team with two safeties in the top-eight is New England (Patrick Chung fifth, Devin McCourty seventh).

What’s even more exciting to see is how Clinton-Dix has come to life in the playoffs. In four postseason games, he’s recorded three interceptions. Of course, he made a rookie mistake defending Russell Wilson’s all-important two-point conversion in the NFC title game. But guess what? He was exactly that — a rookie.

Clinton-Dix is quickly becoming one of the league’s best young safeties, and the future of the secondary looks bright as a long as he’s on the field.
