First round (1-29): LB Haason Reddick, Temple

The converted college defensive end was a true revelation among his Senior Bowl peers in Mobile by exhibiting all the traits to be a complete three-down linebacker that can play the run, beat blockers off the edge as a pass rusher and drop back into coverage against running backs and tight ends.

In addition to possessing the raw strength of a hand-in-the-dirt lineman, the Camden, NJ native has the hips of a cornerback given the facility with which he can twist and turn with opponents down the field.

But beyond the physical tools, Reddick has the sharp instincts to sniff out and disrupt plays before they have a chance of developing.

The former Owl’s physicality to jam running back’s off the line and anticipate screens during Senior Bowl practice sessions have played a significant role in elevating Reddick’s draft stock.

Although Green Bay’s primary area of need remains the cornerback position, the Packers’ front office would be hard pressed to let a prospect with Reddick’s varied skill set get by them especially with the top handful of corners (including Sidney Jones) already off the board.

Considering how linebackers featuring above-average coverage skills thins out pretty quickly among this year’s crop of prospects, Reddick is far and away the top off-the-ball option at his position.

Defensive coordinator Dom Capers will be licking his chops at the prospect of  finding new ways to move around this type of multi-faceted chess piece in his defense.
