Eddie Lacy

The million dollar question. Will Lacy re-sign with the Packers?

Perhaps more important to ask is whether the Packers should re-sign Lacy. After two excellent seasons in 2013 and 2014, his production hit a wall. Injuries have been problematic, as has staying at an ideal weight.

There’s too many red flags to hand Lacy a long-term, lucrative contract. Two years ago he seemed heading for one, but his most recent two have shaved millions off of his valuation.

Maybe a team with money to burn will gladly hand Lacy a big contract. But assuming he gets past the first few days of free agency without interest, the Packers will likely swoop in and re-sign him on a team-friendly deal.

We’ve seen Lacy at his best. We’ve seen Lacy at his worst. He looked on his way back to his best in 2016 before an ankle injury ended is season.

Where he lands will be fascinating to watch. Ultimately, I think he stays.

Prediction: Re-signs with the Packers
