The Cowboys Zeke Revenge: Packers at Cowboys, Week 5

The Packers are in the minds of the Cowboys. Green Bay has pulled some impressive wins against the self-proclaimed  “America’s Team” over the last few years. Could that be coming to an end?

Ezekiel Elliott and the Cowboys ran all over the Packers during the Lambeau meeting last year, but Green Bay got the last laugh in the postseason. Other than last season’s defeat, the Packers have beaten the Cowboys six out of the last seven times they have played including that amazing 34-31 playoff game.

This game is important in three ways for the Packers.

They need to continue to haunt Dallas like they have over the past eight years. When you have two evenly matched teams you need something to have the edge and this is something that will help the Packers.

Secondly, the Cowboys will be expected to contend for the playoffs this year and the Packers need to prove that they are in that conversation as well.

The Cowboys will have their potent combination of QB Dak Prescott and RB phenom Ezekiel Elliott looking to prove that their rookie years were not flukes. The offensive line took a little bit of a hit over the offseason but they will still be a strong point for the team. Dallas still boasts standout WR Dez Bryant with a lot left in his tank and the ageless wonder in TE Jason Witten.

The Packers let Elliott tear through their defense twice last year. Granted, “Zeke” tore through a lot of teams. Luckily, Dallas’ defense might have been just as porous as the Packers’ last year. This offseason the Cowboys defense took a big hit when they lost three starting defensive backs.

It will be another huge road game against playoff caliber team for the Packers.
