Cornerbacks Ahkello Witherspoon, Cam Sutton, and Corn Elder early Day 3 prospects to keep an eye on. Even if the Packers select a cornerback with one for heir first picks, they could still add another talented defensive back in the middle rounds to add depth and competition to the position.
Safety John Johnson out of Boston College is a versatile defensive back who can safety or nickel corner. He’s a guy Green Bay could draft to fulfill the Micah Hyde role on defense.
The Packers could also look to the middle rounds to add another receiving weapon on offense. Wideouts Ardarius Stewart, Malachi Dupre, Amarah Darboh, and Cooper Kupp are all intriguing prospects with downfield ability. Dupre and Kupp are big targets who can work down the seam, and Stewart and Darboh have speed to stretch the field.
Despite the signing of Ricky Jean Francois, Green Bay could also consider targeting one of the defensive lineman from this group. They could use big-body run stoppers like Dalvin Tomlinson and Jarron Jones, or they could go after explosive interior rushers like Elijah Qualls and Davon Godchaux.
Staying not he defensive side of the ball, linebackers Blair Brown and Elijah Lee are athletic and can hold their own in coverage. They are real possibilities for the Packers to consider in the fourth or fifth round.
Trey Hendrickson and Carroll Phillips are outside linebacker prospects who rush the passer with some juice. They’re speedy edge guys who could develop into pretty good players in a couple of years.
