Twitter has been reacting to the Green Bay Packers’ first selection of the 2017 NFL Draft, cornerback Kevin King out of Washington.

The Packers needed a cornerback badly. With the No. 31 ranked pass defense, as well as the loss of Sam Shields, Dom Capers needed some help to the secondary. He’s got it in Kevin King, selected with the 33rd overall pick.

King was among the candidates for the Packers’ pick at No. 33. Assuming they didn’t trade the selection away, he, along with Quincy Wilson, Dalvin Cook and even Joe Mixon’s name was linked to the Pack.

King is the man they went for. Here’s how Packers fans have been reacting on Twitter.

Consider that a resounding yes. And the praise didn’t stop there.

That extra pick is of course referring to the trade Green Bay made on Thursday night. They sent away the 29th pick for Cleveland’s second-round and fourth-round selections. Ted Thompson got his man, and added a free fourth-rounder for his troubles. That’s good business.

That’s a good point by Ryan Wood. King’s height will certainly help against some of the league’s bigger receivers.

Here’s a list of the Packers’ remaining picks:

Round 2 (No. 61 overall)
Round 3 (No. 93 overall)
Round 4 (No. 108 overall)
Round 4 (No. 134 overall)
Round 5 (No. 172 overall)
Round 5 (No. 182 overall)
Round 6: (No. 212 overall)
Round 7: (No. 247 overall)

The draft remains deep at cornerback, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Packers doubled down at the position. They may also turn to the group of edge rushers, running backs and offensive linemen.
