Geronimo Allison

The 6-foot-3 Tampa native is the odds-on favorite to be the team’s No. 4 receiver. He gave fans a taste of his ability to catch balls in traffic by hanging on to a 7-yard toss by Brett Hundley in the second quarter of Thursday night’s win over Philadelphia.

The former undrafted free agent ran a smooth slant pattern versus C.J. Smith by disarming his man by faking the outside route and then cutting it inside.

Allison may have a one-game suspension working against him to a certain degree, but he’s done far too much positive work for him to be on the chopping block come Sept. 2.

The second-year man proved his worth by stepping in and performing in place of Cobb down the stretch of the regular season last year.

He was particularly instrumental in Green Bay’s division-clinching victory over the Lions with 4 grabs for 91 yards including a 10-yard touchdown.

In addition to possessing the size and strength to fight off NFL cornerbacks, Allison is a long-strider that can create separation the further he runs downfield despite lacking elite straight-line speed.

Allison has earned No. 12’s trust and there’s a lot to be said for that.

Odds of making the squad: 90 percent
