Justin Vogel

Grade: B+

This former Miami Hurricane has been far from perfect in his maiden tour around the NFL, but he’s proven to be a significant upgrade over last year’s punter, Jacob Schum, in terms of average yards per attempt (45.9 versus 43.2).

That average may only rank Vogel 17th overall among his punting peers, but the more important stat to note is the amount of return yardage the specialist is conceding to the opposition.

The Tampa native’s 3.8 yards per return places him among the top three at his position, which can be attributed to his ability to generate major hang time on his punts.

Vogel was at his finest in Green Bay’s Thursday night victory over the Bears in Week 3 due to how he neutralized Tarik Cohen, who produced all of 7 yards on the two punts he managed to get his hands on.

The 24-year-old rookie is susceptible to the sporadic shank, but has been consistently reliable overall and looks like a keeper.
