Vic Fangio is the Green Bay Packers’ “top choice” to become defensive coordinator, while it’s expected Brian Gutekunst will be more aggressive as general manager.

There’s been significant change in Green Bay since the season finale in Detroit.

Mike McCarthy has made various changes to his staff, and the team has a new general manager in Brian Gutekunst. Gutekunst spoke to the media on Monday, and gave the impression he intends to be more aggressive in free agency than Ted Thompson was. He said he will use “every avenue available” to build the roster.

The GM is in place, but McCarthy is still searching for his next defensive coordinator.

It could be Chicago’s Vic Fangio, who became free agent at 12:01 a.m. today. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, he is the team’s top choice.

Let’s dive into the Packers News Report.
