CB. Colorado. Isaiah Oliver. 2. player. 49.

After addressing the pass rush in the first round, Gutekunst will need to also take an early look at the cornerbacks in this year’s class. And he will have plenty of options. One is to attempt to trade back into the first round if he has a particular prospect in mind — the Packers are in a strong position to do just that with a league-high 12 selections.

In this mock the Packers stay where they are at No. 45, selecting Isaiah Oliver to pair with Kevin King.

If Oliver falls this far, it could be an easy pick for Gutekunst.

I like the fit in Mike Pettine’s defense and think he could form a strong starting duo with King. Daniel Jeremiah of NFL.com has Oliver at No. 32 in his list of top 50 prospects in the class:

"“Oliver has excellent size, length and speed for the position. He’s at his best in press coverage. He shoots his hands and re-routes wide receivers before staying on their hip down the field. He has plenty of speed to carry vertical routes.”"

Whether he falls to No. 45 remains to be seen, but if he’s still there, the Packers could land a major upgrade to their secondary.

Gutekunst would still need to add at least one more corner in the draft as the secondary needs more depth. But Oliver would be an excellent second-round selection.
