Packers schedule: Five toughest opponents in 2018
1. Packers @ Vikings: Week 12
There is A LOT of animosity between these two teams. When the Packers head to Minneapolis to face the Vikings, one man will be looking for revenge. U.S. Bank Stadium is the place where Anthony Barr unnecessarily hit Aaron Rodgers. That hit broke his collarbone and basically ended any chance for the Packers to make another playoff run.
Green Bay has yet to win in the new stadium. They also haven’t beat the Vikings since Christmas Eve in 2016. The Vikings have become the team to beat in the NFC North.
The acquisition of Kirk Cousins didn’t help the Packers’ chances of capturing another NFC North championship either. The Vikings defense also continues to get better year after year. They have been able to shut down Rodgers and the offense even without breaking his collarbone.
A lot of things have to go the Packers’ way. Rodgers has to ignite the offense, the defense has to contain the revamped Vikings offense, and the Packers need to silence the crowd.
It will be a very hostile environment though. Both fan bases know how much a win would mean. With this matchup coming later in the season, it could have huge playoff implications.
