Composite Rankings: Edge Rushers

1. Bradley Chubb, NC State (40 pts)

2. Harold Landry, Boston College (37 pts)

3. Marcus Davenport, UTSA (32 pts)

4. Sam Hubbard, Ohio State (29 pts)

5. Lorenzo Carter, Georgia (25 pts)

6. Arden Key, LSU (16 pts)

7. Okoronkwo Ogbannia, Oklahoma (15 pts)

8. Josh Sweat, FSU (14 pts)

9. Uchenna Nwosu, USC (12 pts)

10. Hercules Mata’afa, Washington State (6 pts)

Overview: All four writers had Bradley Chubb and Harold Landry as their top two edge rushers, and had Marcus Davenport ranked either third or fourth.

All four writers also had Sam Hubbard in their top-five. However, Lorenzo Carter ranked anywhere from third to seventh on draft boards, showing a pretty big disparity.

This would make sense because Hubbard is the far safer prospect, and Carter is a bit of a boom-or-bust player.

There were also a lot of differing opinions on Josh Sweat and Arden Key. One writer didn’t rank Key at all, while the other three placed him fourth, fifth, and eighth on their board.

Similarly, Sweat was fifth, sixth, eighth, or unranked.

All four writers had Uchenna Nwosu and Ogbannia Okoronkwo in their top-10, but they were placed in the bottom half of the top-10 on all four boards.

Kemoko Turay was mentioned by two writers, but Hercules Mata’afa just beat him out for the 10th spot on our composite board. Even though only one writer had the former WSU defensive lineman ranked in their top-10, that writer viewed Mata’afa as the fifth best edge prospect in the class.

Dorance Armstrong, Marquis Haynes, Jeff Holland, and Leon Jacobs were each mentioned by one writer.
