More trades on the way?

The question now isn’t if the Packers will make another trade, it’s when.

With just one selection on the second day of the draft, but an additional 10 on Day 3, it wouldn’t make sense not to take advantage and jump up.

Gutekunst was never going to give away his gameplan in advance, but judging by his comments following the first round, we can safely assume he plans on moving around.

Here’s what Gutekunst said after the first round, via the Packers’ official website:

"“I think the way our board looks right now, I would assume we would move around a little bit. We have a lot of picks. There’s areas of the board that we feel really good about, so I’d assume we would.”"

An option in play is the Packers trading down from No. 45, just as they did in the first round. Accumulating even more picks, Gutekunst could then jump back into the second or third round by packaging together a number of Day 3 selections.

It promises to be another exciting day for the Packers. Gutekunst has proved in a short space of time, including his approach to free agency, that he’s not afraid to make bold moves.
