Packers: 4 possible veteran departures this summer
Demetri Goodson, CB
Cap hit in 2018: $690,000 ($0 in dead cap)
Everything I stated about why Quinten Rollins may be released, stands for Demetri Goodson as well, but this scenario seems even more likely for Goodson. Goodson is even lower on the pecking order than Rollins, and Goodson has an even more extensive injury history. Honestly, I am kind of shocked that Goodson is even still on the roster.
Goodson suffered a pretty nasty knee injury during the 2016 season, tearing his ACL, MCL, dislocating his knee cap, and tearing both meniscuses. The injury caused him to miss the remainder of the 2016 season and the entirety of the 2017 season. Unfortunately for Goodson, that could be reason enough to be cut, as those types of injuries make it extremely hard for a player to come back and play at a high level again.
At one point, before the injury, Goodson was a valuable special teams gunner, and since losing Jeff Janis, new reliable gunners are going to be needed on special teams, which is the only way I see Goodson making the roster.

More than likely that isn’t a legitimate option for Goodson to make the team though, as quality depth at the cornerback position comes before providing the team with a special teams gunner with an awful injury history.
