Safeties

Ha Ha Clinton-Dix – 79

Clinton-Dix finished last season as an 80 overall. He started as an 83 and got as low as a 78 throughout the season. He definitely had a disappointing year and hopes to bounce back with Pettine as the new coordinator. It’s uncertain how he’ll be used. What is certain is Clinton-Dix has a great opportunity to also increase his rating like Wilkerson does. The talent is there, but like Wilkerson, veterans aren’t rated on potential.

Josh Jones – 72

Jones has all the athleticism and promise in the world. He’s just still very raw. He was drafted to be Morgan Burnett’s replacement and now it’s time to see what he’s got. The Packers addressed several needs on defense this offseason, but safety was not one of the position groups they improved. The trust is in Jones to be a good player. He plays the style of football that’s going to mean a drastic increase or decrease in both his rating and his playing time. In Madden, though, he should be a fun player to use due to his speed and agility attributes.

Kentrell Brice – 66

This isn’t a very deep position group for the Packers at all. If you’re going to take over this team, safety is probably one of the first positions you’ll look to improve. I already mentioned you can try out Burks or Jackson at safety, and they’ll very likely be better than Brice as a third option. They may even be better than Jones. If not, there’s probably a better safety pick up via free agency or trade. Brice has a lot of room to improve and he just might get the chance to in real life.
