Special teams: B+

The Packers have made some changes on special teams this offseason, most notably at punter and long snapper. The team surprisingly used two of their draft picks on special teams, selecting punter J.K. Scott in the fifth round, and long snapper Hunter Bradley in the seventh.

Green Bay quickly moved on from last year’s punter Justin Vogel, which was a surprise as he had played well in 2017. But Scott is the future, and so far all the signs out of OTAs and minicamp have been positive for the young punter. He’ll be a player to watch during preseason.

One area the Packers are set is at kicker.

Mason Crosby is entering his 12th season as Green Bay’s kicker, and as long as he’s there, the team has no concerns. He has nothing left to prove, and will be expected to continue to play at a high level.

Training camp will determine who returns kicks and punts this season. Trevor Davis will be among the candidates, and it might be his best route on to the 53-man roster. But there is a lot of competition for places at wide receiver.

A lot depends on J.K. Scott’s rookie season as the team’s new punter, but the Packers look to be in good shape on special teams.
