Future Five

Leighton Vander Esch (Dallas Cowboys): When the Cowboys drafted Leighton Vander Esch, I instantly felt like it was one of the best picks of the first round, and I feel even better about that pick today. He will instantly help the Cowboys have one of the best linebacker groups in the league. I love his ability in coverage.

Joe Schobert (Cleveland Browns): Schobert did an excellent job stopping the run last season, and he was one of the best players on the Cleveland Browns. He could be an “honorable mention”, or higher next year.

Tremaine Edmunds (Buffalo Bills): Edmunds slid a bit in the draft, and the Bills were smart to grab him when they could (he will fit in very well in today’s NFL). His ability and speed in coverage is special for his position. Even though he is young, he should instantly make an impact as a starter.

Roquan Smith (Chicago Bears): The Bears found an instant difference-maker with their selection of Smith. He has a chance to have over 100 tackles next season with his ability in run support. The Bears found a player similar to Brian Urlacher with Roquan Smith.

Jaylon Smith (Dallas Cowboys): Smith showed that the horrific injury he suffered in his last collegiate game would not hold him back as a NFL player. He has Pro Bowl potential, and he may be in one sooner than you think.
