5. Dont’a Hightower (New England Patriots)

Hightower is a leader on the Patriots defense, and the results of Super Bowl LII may have been different if he was in that game. The Patriots defense is not spectacular headed into the 2018 season, but getting Hightower back will certainly help their cause.

4. Myles Jack (Jacksonville Jaguars)

Jack is a versatile player. He can play linebacker, but he can probably play safety, and maybe even slot corner or edge rusher as well. Fun Fact: Jack played a little running back in college.

I could see Jack becoming the best linebacker in the game within a few seasons.

3. Deion Jones (Atlanta Falcons)

Jones is one of the steals of the 2016 draft class. He is mobile and excels in coverage. He is incredibly well-rounded, it’s hard to find any weaknesses in his game.

2. Bobby Wagner (Seattle Seahawks)

Wagner is the glue that holds the Seahawks defense together. I was tempted to put him at the number one spot on this list. If he can continue to dominate without names such as Richard Sherman or Kam Chancellor in the secondary, it would be hard not to have him at the number one spot next year.

1. Luke Kuechly (Carolina Panthers)

Kuechly is an incredibly talented player, he is the definition of what you want from an inside linebacker. I hope his health holds up.
