3. Dominance of the defensive line

The Green Bay Packers’ defensive line was already the biggest strength on defense last year. And that was before they signed Muhammad Wilkerson in free agency this past March.

Mike Daniels‘ tweet said it all shortly after Wilkerson signed.

Green Bay’s defensive line looks as good as any in the league right now. Daniels is coming off of a Pro Bowl season. Clark looks better every game he plays, and put together an excellent second season with a career-best 4.5 sacks. And he doesn’t even turn 23 until October. Clark has superstar potential in Green Bay.

Lombardi Ave’s Keegan Jackish ranked the best defensive linemen in the NFL earlier this month, and both Daniels and Clark made the top 10.

Enter Wilkerson, who could turn a very good defensive line into a great one. At his best, Wilkerson is one of the best defensive linemen in the league, as he’s previously proved in Mike Pettine’s defense.

The Packers also have solid depth along the line with Dean Lowry, Montravius Adams and rookie James Looney.

With Mike Pettine as defensive coordinator, this could be the best defensive line we’ve seen in Green Bay for years. It will once again be the defense’s biggest strength.
