2. Montravius Adams
Montravius Adams was apparently on the Packers’ roster last season. At six-foot-four and 304 pounds, Adams flashed freakish ability at Auburn, but after missing nine games due to injury, he recorded a whopping two tackles during his rookie campaign. Along with Kevin King, the Packers need to see significant strides from their former third-round draft pick to warrant a spot on what is becoming a deeper defensive line.

The Packers are hopeful that Adams can be a needed force in the pass rush up the middle. The line already featured Mike Daniels and an ascending Kenny Clark, and then new general manager Brian Gutekunst signed Muhammad Wilkerson away from the New York Jets.
With Dean Lowry and two other late-round picks (James Looney and Kendall Donnerson) in the picture, the Packers are hopeful that Adams can become a serviceable backup and help round out what figures to be a pretty promising unit. So far, Adams has dominated in training camp, but his four preseason games will mean a lot towards his future with the team.
3. Greer Martini
Greer Martini suddenly has a strong shot to make the roster after the season-ending injury to Jake Ryan. As a starter for Notre Dame last season, Martini was a solid contributor for an otherwise average Fighting Irish defense. He had a monster game against Navy late in the season, where he recorded eight solo tackles and assisted on seven others.
But where Martini figures to catch the Packers’ eye is on special teams. The Packers have been trying to get better on fourth down for years both under Shawn Slocum and Ron Zook. After drafting long snapper Hunter Bradley and punter J.K. Scott in this year’s draft, the Packers are also looking to improve their coverage unit. Martini has shown some ability in that department in camp so far, and a couple solid plays downfield on punts should help Martini secure a spot on the 53-man roster.
