Quarterbacks (2)

Aaron Rodgers, DeShone Kizer

Based on performances so far, it’s difficult to predict who will win the number two job behind Aaron Rodgers. Brett Hundley was the pick of the quarterbacks last week against Tennessee, but Kizer played well enough, and for now he’s still my choice. That said, it’s becoming increasingly likely the Packers will keep three quarterbacks on the roster.

Tim Boyle shouldn’t be written off just yet. He impressed in the preseason opener, but it’s still a long shot he makes the 53-man roster ahead of Kizer and Hundley.

Running backs (4)

Jamaal Williams, Ty Montgomery, Devante Mays, Aaron Ripkowski

Jamaal Williams is listed as the starting running back on the Packers’ latest unofficial depth chart. Aaron Jones could change that once he’s back from a two-game suspension to start the regular season.

Assuming Devante Mays is healthy, he’ll make the roster as the third running back, offering some depth while Jones is out. It will also be an opportunity for Mays to show what he can do after two fumbles cost him game time in his rookie season.

Williams and Montgomery will take the majority of the carries during the first two games, but it’s also possible Aaron Ripkowski gets a few carries. He is currently ahead of Joe Kerridge at fullback on the depth chart.
