Fantasy Football: Draft advice for Green Bay Packers at each position
Tight end
It’s been a long time since the Packers have had one of the top tight ends for fantasy. But Jimmy Graham has top-tier tight end potential this year.

It appears many fantasy players agree. His ADP is in the fifth round, according to Fantasy Football Calculator. That’s a little too risky for my liking. I love Graham this season. He is a dominant red zone threat and should be an important part of the Packers’ offense. But in the fifth round? That’s a tough decision.
It can be difficult to find a tight end you can start with confidence each week, and if you’ve made it to the fifth round without selecting one, it’s likely Rob Gronkowski, Zach Ertz and Travis Kelce will all be gone. For that reason you may feel the pressure to make a move.
But the fifth round is high, even for Graham. Greg Olsen and Evan Engram are often available in the sixth. Surprisingly, Delanie Walker‘s ADP is the seventh round. Kyle Rudolph and Trey Burton are solid options in the seventh, too. If you’re willing to take a risk, Jordan Reed in the eighth round could be one of the best picks of the draft if he can stay healthy.
Given how thin the tight end position is for fantasy, it’s difficult to judge how early to go. Graham has the potential to be a top-five player at the position, which could justify such a high price tag.
When to draft Graham will depend on the board. If there is a run on tight ends around the fifth round, it would make more sense to take him there. If a few top TEs are still available, it’ll be easier to take the risk and wait another round or two.
Unless Graham gets injured, you shouldn’t consider drafting Marcedes Lewis or Lance Kendricks.
