Packers: Aaron Rodgers agrees huge contract extension, per report
The Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers have agreed to a huge contract extension.
Aaron Rodgers is the best player in the NFL, and now he’s finally got a big contract extension.
James Jones of NFL Network, Rodgers’ former teammate, broke the news on Twitter.
According to Jones, it is a four-year extension with over $100 million in guarantees.

It’s been a busy day for general manager Brian Gutekunst. The Packers reportedly traded Brett Hundley to the Seattle Seahawks on Wednesday.
And Gutekunst has now finally reached an agreement with Rodgers over a contract extension.
Rodgers has two years remaining on his current deal, which means he won’t become a free agent until 2024. He’ll be 40 years old by then.
Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel noted that the deal hasn’t yet been signed, but he added “the basics are done”.
With this deal, Gutekunst’s offseason to-do list is just about complete.
He was more aggressive in free agency, upgraded the secondary by drafting Jaire Alexander and Josh Jackson, and also signing Tramon Williams. And now Rodgers has got the extension he deserves.
Oh, and let’s not forget Gutekunst acquired an additional first-round draft pick from the Saints.
It can be considered a successful first offseason for Green Bay’s new GM.
Rodgers will be aiming for his third league MVP award this year. He first won the award in 2011 when he threw for 4,643 yards and 45 touchdowns with just six interceptions. The Packers went 15-1 in the regular season.
His second award came three years later in 2014, a year after he missed half the season with a broken collarbone. In 2014, Rodgers threw for 4,381 yards and 38 touchdowns with just five picks.
Rodgers has broken his collarbone twice in the past five years, and has missed a total of 16 regular season games as a result. But in the three years in between the injuries, he hasn’t missed a single game.
