4. Geronimo Allison, WR

Davante Adams, Randall Cobb and Jimmy Graham figure to get most of the attention from the Bears’ defense. That’ll leave Geronimo Allison with plenty of one-on-one opportunities throughout the game.

Allison has looked good this preseason and has firmly locked down the number three receiver role. Allison will now get a chance to prove the Packers’ faith in him correct.

With the Bears’ strong pass rush, the Packers may not have time for deep routes and long plays.  Allison runs crisp routes and has sure hands making quick pass plays (slants, outs and ins) his forte.

It’ll be important for the Packers to have a fast start and get Rodgers in rhythm. The best way to do this is with timing routes and quick plays. Adams, Cobb and Graham will have plenty of opportunities for plays themselves, but to open the game, relying on Allison to get things going would be a good plan.

Allison having a good game will help spread out the coverage to free up Adams and the rest of the Packers’ receiving corps. Allison, coupled with balance from the run game, should allow the offense to be able to take what they want instead of taking what is given.
