16. Miami Dolphins (2-0)

The Miami Dolphins have surprised many of us with their 2-0 start, and they have a great opportunity to win again this week at home to the 0-2 Raiders. I’m not convinced Miami will keep this up beyond Week 3, but a perfect record puts them at No. 16 in these rankings.

15. New Orleans Saints (1-1)

After a huge upset in Week 1 by the Buccaneers, the New Orleans Saints almost lost at home again to Cleveland. It’s a concerning start to the year for one of the preseason Super Bowl favorites. They face a huge game against Atlanta at Mercedes-Benz Stadium this week.

14. Los Angeles Chargers (1-1)

The Los Angeles Chargers avoided repeating last season’s disastrous 0-4 start with a comfortable victory over the Bills. Surprisingly, Austin Ekeler led the running backs with 11 carries for an impressive 77 yards. They get a real test against the Rams this week. Can the Chargers show why they should be considered serious contenders in the AFC?

13. Carolina Panthers (1-1)

The Carolina Panthers defense had no answer for the division-rival Falcons in Week 2, giving up not one, but two rushing touchdowns to Matt Ryan. Ouch. Ryan also threw two touchdown passes. Atlanta averaged 5.3 yards per carry, despite missing Devonta Freeman due to injury. A bad afternoon for Carolina’s defense.
