2. Geronimo Allison continues to deliver

When the Packers decided to move on from Jordy Nelson, many wondered whether Geronimo Allison would be able to step up into a bigger role on offense.

So far this season, the answer is 100 percent yes.

Allison only had two catches on four targets against Washington, but he continues to make an impact on the game. Allison pulled the Packers back into it when he got wide open in the middle of the field, making a 64-yard touchdown reception.

In the opening three games, Allison has 13 catches for 209 yards and two touchdowns. He’s on pace for 69 catches, 1,115 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns this season. While it’s too early to expect a 1,000-yard season from Allison, he’s made a great start.

For some perspective, Allison had a combined 455 yards and two touchdowns the past two years. He should have no trouble beating that this season.

Davante Adams is the team’s top wide receiver and continues to play at a high level, particularly in the red zone, but Allison has stepped up into a key role on offense.

Right now, none of the three rookie wide receivers have made an impact. Fourth-round pick J’Mon Moore and sixth-round pick Equanimeous St. Brown were inactive again this week. Fifth-rounder Marquez Valdes-Scantling had one target but no receptions.

The Packers needed Allison to take on a bigger role this season, and through three weeks he’s delivered.
