2. Right tackle

Speaking of better protection, our next player is Bryan Bulaga. Bulaga left last week’s game towards the end of the first half against Washington, with an injured back. Bulaga, though, has been a surprise participant in practice this week.

After leaving and not returning, I expected Bulaga to out for a week or two. He has been practicing in a limited capacity this week and hopes to play. Bulaga has not been the player we are used to seeing this season, as he is making his way back from a torn ACL.

An injury to his back could only decrease his abilities. Should his back flare up, Jason Spriggs will get the call. If the Packers are down to both Spriggs and Patrick or Bell, they could be in trouble.

In the past, Rodgers’ mobility could be used to negate the problems at a particular spot on the offensive line. But Rodgers’ injured knee takes away that advantage. Although Rodgers has moved around well so far, it isn’t an ideal situation to have him constantly on the move.

Rodgers is practicing more this week than previous weeks but that doesn’t mean his knee is feeling better. Jerry Hughes and Trent Murphy, while not household names, are a good pair of pass rushers. Former first-round pick Shaq Lawson is also in the mix and should see time in rushing situations.

Whoever ends up on the right side of the line is going to have their hands full and will need to have a good game to keep Rodgers upright and prevent what happened in Minnesota to the Packers this week.
