Fantasy Football: Packers players to start in Week 5 vs. Lions
Sit ‘Em
It’s hard to sit a player that most people drafted extremely high on their draft boards. Adams is pitted between a rock and a hard place playing Detroit this week. Not only is his health questionable with a calf injury, but he’ll also be lined up against Darius Slay.
If Adams were 100 percent healthy, he should still have a great game despite playing one of the best corners in the NFL. Unfortunately, Adams may not have the quick draw off the snap to create separation like he normally does playing through an injury.
Adams still has the potential to be a threat in the red zone. He might not put up bad points, and could even still be placed as a FLEX player this week.
If fantasy owners want to play ultra conservative and have better matchups with another wide receiver, they could go with the better matchup. If one were to roll the dice on Davante Adams this week, it would be a low-risk gamble to take.
Geronimo Allison
Allison has been turning into a very solid wide receiver two, or at the very least, a great FLEX player on most fantasy rosters. Rodgers has been utilizing Allison as a reliable target each week, which has caused Geronimo to slowly become a fan favorite.
No one ever wants to see players receive injuries, and in Allison’s case, it’s unfortunate to witness a player get a concussion. The NFL has been doing everything in their power to limit head injuries, but accidents still occur on the field with bad collisions. We can only hope that Allison has a speedy recovery.
Randall Cobb
A hamstring injury has kept Randall Cobb on the bench for a couple weeks now. Cobb didn’t play last week against the Buffalo Bills, and he has officially been ruled out by the Packers, so there is zero chance he will be taking the field this Sunday. Don’t bother crossing your fingers on trying to play him, he is guaranteed to put up zero fantasy points.
While it looks as though the Packers have their backs against the walls with so many injuries, the good news is they have the potential to run away with a large lead. It’s already happened in Week 1 when the Jets decided to pounce on the Lions. As always, may the touchdowns be plenty, the injuries be limited, and the odds be in your favor.
