Three more teams can help the Green Bay Packers in Week 11.

Winning on Thursday night is the top priority for the Green Bay Packers.

But if they can pull off the win and improve to 5-4-1, they will be able to sit back during the weekend’s games and hope a few playoff rivals lose.

Last week Green Bay got some help around the league. The Browns defeated the Falcons, and the Rams took down the Seahawks.

These three teams can help the Packers this week:

Detroit Lions (vs. Panthers)

Just like last week, the Lions make this list, which at first seems strange as division rivals. But at 3-6, the Lions are likely out of the playoff race.

The same can’t be said about the 6-3 Panthers, despite their embarrassing defeat to the Pittsburgh Steelers last week.

With the Saints running away with the NFC South title at 8-1, two games ahead of Carolina, the Panthers are currently the NFC’s fifth seed.

The Packers’ best chance to make the playoffs might be as a wild-card. The division-rival Lions could help Green Bay out by handing Carolina its fourth loss of the season.

Houston Texans (at Washington)

Washington is currently in first place in the NFC East. But that division is still close, and if the Eagles or Cowboys turn things around and eventually finish in first place, the Packers could be competing with Washington for a wild-card berth.

And in a scenario that both Green Bay and Washington are division winners, the Packers would need to finish a game ahead to gain a higher seed as they lost the head-to-head tiebreaker.

As Washington takes on an AFC opponent this week, the Texans are an easy choice for this article.

New Orleans Saints (vs. Eagles)

While Green Bay owns New Orleans’ first-round pick, we have to accept the fact the pick isn’t going to be a high one. And before the attention turns to next year’s draft, the Saints can help the Packers by defeating a potential wild-card contender.

The defending Super Bowl champions are 4-5, but a win at New Orleans would put them right back in contention for a wild-card berth. If they lose and fall to 4-6, their playoff hopes would take a hit, which could mean one less team for the Packers to worry about.
