3. Montravius Adams

The second Adams to make the list is not Pugsley, Fester, or Gomez, no it’s Montravious! OK, while I may be showing my age on the reference, the player still is one to watch.

Like last week’s candidate, Tyler Lancaster, Montravius Adams must take advantage of the extra playing time he is seeing and show the Packers something. As a third-round pick, Adams is expected to be at least a key role player heading into 2019. So far, he has not done much to distinguish himself.

Coming out of Auburn, Adams was known for being quick off the ball and hard to handle on the inside. Last year a foot injury stunted his development.

To start this year, Muhammad Wilkerson, Mike Daniels and Kenny Clark were starting with Dean Lowry ahead of Adams in the rotation. But now, Adams has a chance to shine. He was credited with a half sack against the Bears last week, and with a rookie starting this week, Adams will have a chance for more.

Darnold, like most rookie quarterbacks, will hold the ball too long and give the defense a chance at sacks. Coming from the middle, Adams has a direct route to the quarterback so he can, and hopefully will, cash in.

If Adams can make good on the promise he showed coming out of Auburn, the Packers will have a solid cast coming back along the defensive line in 2019.
