8. Jim Schwartz

While there may still be some bitter feelings between the Packers and old nemesis Jim Schwartz, this on the surface looks like a pretty interesting marriage. The Packers are still many players and many years of development away from having a championship level defense, but a defensive-minded head coach could help the team with some of those growing pains.

Schwartz’s success as the defensive coordinator in Philadelphia has been pretty noteworthy. The Eagles defense performed exceptionally well in their playoff run against the Falcons and Vikings, and has kept the team just above water this season as they worked their way into the playoffs.

Even though the Packers need a modern day offensive coordinator and a complete overhaul of the offense, they are still very far away on defense. With Aaron Rodgers on offense, Schwartz could help bring the defense into respectability, once and for all.

7. Mike Munchak

While many people wonder whether or not Mike Munchak is truly worthy of being a head coach in the NFL, his football acumen cannot be questioned. A Hall-of-Famer, Munchak blew defensive linemen off the ball snap after snap as a nine-time Pro Bowler for the Houston Oilers.

Now currently the offensive line coach of the Steelers, he brings a certain toughness and brutality to an offensive line that is clearly lacking.

Munchak had one winning season as the head coach in Tennessee. His other two campaigns ended with just six and seven wins, but it was clear that he never even sniffed the type of quarterback play that Aaron Rodgers provides.

Munchak has been the offensive line coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers since 2014, and that unit has improved dramatically since his time there.
