3. Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings

Kirk Cousins didn’t make the start he would’ve hoped to his Vikings career. Minnesota won just eight games and failed to reach the playoffs. After signing a three-year, $84 million contract last offseason, Cousins needs to prove he can lead his team into the postseason.

His numbers in 2018 don’t look too bad — he completed 70.1 percent of his passes for 4,298 yards and 30 touchdowns with 10 interceptions. But overall, it wasn’t a great season for Cousins or the Vikings offense.

Part of the problem was the offensive line, and Minnesota made some good offseason moves this spring. With the addition of Garrett Bradbury and Dru Samia in the draft, the Vikings’ offensive line should be improved this season. And that could be the key to helping the offense get back on track.

There’s a reason why the Vikings signed Cousins to such a big contract. He’s a talented quarterback and helped Washington reach the playoffs back in the 2015 season. If he can get back to his best this year, the Vikings will be very much in contention in the NFC North.

In a division with so much quarterback talent, Cousins is third in the rankings. But with a strong second season in Minnesota, he could move up next offseason.
