2. Defensive line

A position group to get excited about is the defensive line. Despite of all the improvements made across the board on defense, it’s the defensive line that could be the best position group on that side of the ball once again.

Kenny Clark is quickly becoming a superstar at defensive tackle. Clark could be an All-Pro and Pro Bowler for the Packers this season. Clark helps the pass rush with interior pressure, and he has 10.5 sacks over the past two seasons. Pro Football Focus has ranked the top 50 players in the NFL ahead of 2019, and Clark comes in at 37th.

Don’t forget about Mike Daniels, either. For a while, Daniels was the best defensive player on the team. He’s missed eight games with injury over the past two seasons, but if he’s fully healthy, there’s no reason why he can’t get back to his best. Daniels will also add interior pass rush. In the past three seasons, Daniels has 11 sacks and 30 quarterback hits.

Depth is also no issue for the defensive line with Dean Lowry, Montravius Adams, Tyler Lancaster and rookie Kingsley Keke.

Packers fans have good reason to be optimistic about the defense this season. Number one on the list is the defensive line.
