2. Minnesota Vikings (Week 2)

Here is an opportunity for the Packers to make up for last season’s mistake. They hosted the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2 and looked to have the game in the bag. But after allowing the Vikings to get back in the game from 23-14 down in the fourth quarter, the Packers left the game breathing a sigh of relief that they had earned a tie.

This time, Minnesota will visit Lambeau Field in the Packers’ home opener, which will also be the first home game in the Matt LaFleur era. This is a chance for the Packers to make a statement and lay the foundation for a successful season, especially if they lose at Soldier Field the week prior.

If the Packers plan on regaining the NFC North title, they best win their home division games. Especially against the Vikings, a team also good enough to put up double-digit victories and win the division.

A difficult game or not, anything but a win here would be bad news for the Packers and an early setback in the season. These games matter the most when it comes to securing a playoff berth late in the year, and this is one the Packers can’t afford to lose (or tie).
