1. Packers will win the NFC North

And with the Bears not making the playoffs, it’s the Packers that go on to regain first place in the NFC North. For a team that has missed the postseason two years running and finished on just six victories last season, this would be a big jump.

But for Packers fans, it’s understandable to be excited after what looks to be a very good offseason with many positions of need addressed and a new offensive-minded head coach hired. I’m so optimistic about this season that I wrote an article with five reasons why the Packers will win the NFC North, covering the improvements made in the offseason, particularly on defense, as well as a favorable schedule.

But like we’ve seen for over a decade, Aaron Rodgers is the Packers’ X-Factor, and when he is at his best (final six games of the 2016 season), there’s very little any defense can do.

A few years ago, predicting the Packers will win the NFC North wouldn’t be considered bold. Maybe it still isn’t all that bold. But after two disappointing seasons, winning a competitive division with a new head coach would be a huge step up.
