Conference Championships

AFC: Colts (3) def. Chargers (5)

NFC: Saints (1) def. Rams (2)

Winning a championship as a wild-card team isn’t easy, as the Chargers find out here in the AFC title game. Playing in their third road game in as many weeks, the Chargers fall short against an excellent Colts team, who benefit from home-field advantage to reach the Super Bowl.

And after being upset by the Rams at the Superdome in the same game a year ago, the Saints make it back to the Super Bowl for the second time in Drew Brees’ career.

Super Bowl LIV

Saints def. Colts

And it’s the Saints that go all the way, defeating the Colts in Miami to win Super Bowl LIV.

What are your predictions for the 2019 season? How far will the Packers go? As much as I hope they win the Lombardi Trophy this year, it’s going to be difficult in LaFleur’s first season, especially up against elite competition in the NFC. The Saints and Rams are also two settled teams with continuity at head coach and for much of the roster.

But who knows? We’ve seen some very quick turnarounds by non-playoff teams in recent years, including both the Saints and Rams. Maybe the Packers are next.
