3. Jaire Alexander bounces back in a big way

Jaire Alexander has been one of the stars of the Packers’ defense so far this year, although he struggled when matched up against Amari Cooper in last week’s win. But Cooper has been excellent this season and will win a lot of matchups against talented cornerbacks.

Alexander could see a lot of Lions wide receiver Kenny Golladay in this game, which should make for another interesting matchup. While Alexander didn’t have his finest performance against the Cowboys, he should bounce back on Monday night.

Alexander leads the league with nine pass defenses in 2019, and he’s shut down some very good wide receivers. Former Pro Bowl cornerback and NFL Network analyst DeAngelo Hall ranked the top five cornerbacks in the NFL this season. Alexander was fourth on the list. Hall noted that Alexander has 11 forced incompletions, which leads the league.

Alexander is too good a player to not bounce back quickly from last week’s performance. Which, even in a bad game by his standards, he finished with an interception and three pass defenses, more than anyone else in the game.

Alexander will bounce back this week with excellent coverage on either Golladay or Marvin Jones, and he may even make his second interception in as many weeks.
