Packers: Top five performers vs. Raiders in dominant Week 7 win
By Jesse Fry
1. Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers is one of the best talents to have ever played quarterback. Anyone who has watched the NFL over the last decade plus can see that. But, Rodgers has not played like a future Hall-of-Famer in some time.
Rodgers put to rest any doubters out there Sunday.
With a perfect quarterback rating (158.3), Rodgers had as many touchdowns, six, as incompletions. Both through the air (five) and on the ground (one), Rodgers did it all for the Packers.
This game was a testament to how far Rodgers has come in Coach LaFleur’s new system. Rodgers played within the system, stood tall in the pocket, and delivered on-target passes all over the field. When the scheme didn’t work people open, Rodgers used his pinpoint accuracy to put the ball where only his receivers could catch it.
Entering the game with a depleted receiving corps, Rodgers spread the ball around using all at his disposal, hitting eight different receivers when it was all said and done.
With his fifth passing touchdown on the day, a 74-yard catch-and-run to Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Rodgers became the ninth player with 350 touchdowns on his career.
Rodgers has been building and feeling more comfortable, and finally busted out in this game. Hopefully, he can keep this momentum moving forward and use this game as the springboard for what could become another MVP season.
