2. Jamaal Williams

The other half of the dynamic duo, and the reason the Packers don’t worry much when Jones needs a breather, is Jamaal Williams. Much like Jones, Williams’ biggest impact was not in the running game but in the passing game.

Yes, Williams scored a rushing touchdown and had the longest gain by a running back on the ground (14 yards), but he will be remembered more for being the receiver on one of the most amazing throws Rodgers has made this season.

With the game tied at 17, the Packers got the ball back deep in KC territory after Tyler Lancaster forced, then recovered, a LeSean McCoy fumble.

On third-and-one from the four-yard line, Rodgers couldn’t find anyone open initially, scrambled to his right then heaved a pass into the end zone as a Chiefs defender was baring down on him. The pass looked like it might be a throw away as it sailed over Jimmy Graham‘s head. But Williams swooped in and caught the ball while managing to keep two feet in-bounds for the score.

Even Rodgers couldn’t believe what he saw on the replay.

Like Jones, Williams was lined up all over the formation. Without Adams, the Packers have had to be creative. This was exactly why LaFleur was hired. In half a season, we have seen more creativity in formations and play-calling than we have seen in sometime in Green Bay. His scheme is working, and with the perfect balance of playing on time and Rodgers’ improv abilities, the Packers are rolling.
