2. Allen Lazard

With Davante Adams‘ return, the question became about how many targets the other players would get. Allen Lazard is proving he should be getting more opportunities regardless of who’s in the lineup.

In his return, Adams led the team in receptions but it was Lazard who led the team in receiving yardage. Lazard caught three passes for 44 yards and looks like he’s building a nice chemistry with Aaron Rodgers.

To show just how bad the Packers struggled in the game, Lazard also had the longest play from scrimmage for the Packers with his 17-yard reception.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling had a big zero on the stat column in this game. To be fair, no one did anything great. But if not for Lazard, the Packers’ final stats may have looked worse than what they were.

Lazard has the look of someone who is going to bust out and become a big-time player for the Packers in the second half of 2019. I’m not sure why it took so long for Lazard to get his shot, but he’s not letting go of his opportunity. Lazard’s development has been a very nice surprise for the Packers. His continued development will help this team as they try to make a playoff push.
