3. Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams

Prior to the game against Philadelphia, Aaron Rodgers stressed the importance of getting Davante Adams and Jimmy Graham involved. The result was both players having their biggest games of the year. Adams was also hurt in this game and would miss the next four weeks.

During his absence, the Packers turned to their talented duo of running backs to get the offense rolling and that lead to balance, scoring and four straight wins.

Last week against the Chargers, the Packers appeared to abandon that approach and force fed Adams, and that was part of the reason the team put up a dud.

Heading into this game, Rodgers made a similar statement but this time, it was about getting Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams touches.

For his part, Adams doesn’t seem to mind. He feels that as long as the team is winning, he’s fine with whatever may come.

The 49ers were able to destroy the Panthers defense with the speed and unique use of their running backs. The Packers have the personnel to do similar things. Jones nor Williams have the same speed as what the 49ers’ backs do, but they are effective route runners as receivers and can be used on the field at the same time, making it difficult to decipher what the offense is going to do.

The Packers must find the good balance of Adams, Jones and Williams to get the best of their offense.
