2. at San Francisco 49ers, Week 12

A heavyweight showdown with the San Francisco 49ers awaits the Packers after the bye week, and what a game this should be. Not many people would’ve circled this as one of the best games of the season when the schedule was released, but it could determine which team earns a first-round bye, or even home-field advantage.

Entering Week 11, the 49ers are currently the number one seed with an 8-1 record. The Packers are the number two seed with the 8-2 record. The winner of this game will secure a crucial head-to-head tiebreaker which could mean so much late in December.

A loss for either team would also impact their respective division race. The 49ers’ loss to the Seattle Seahawks opened up the NFC West. At 8-2, the Seahawks are right in the mix for the number one seed and division title. Similarly, the Packers are only one game ahead of the 7-3 Minnesota Vikings, who they’ll play on the road in Week 16.

Not only could the win and tiebreaker count for a lot when the regular season comes to an end, but the winning team will also take a huge step towards winning their division. A loss would open the door for either the Seahawks or Vikings.
