3. Aaron Jones has strong finish to season

In such an important game last week against the San Francisco 49ers, it was surprising to see Aaron Jones only play half the snaps at running back. He’s been the Packers’ best player on offense this season, and they needed him. It’s even more surprising that after doing such a good job as a receiver this year, Jones only has one reception in the past three games.

But here’s the good news. Head coach Matt LaFleur realizes this. According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN, LaFleur said that the Packers “definitely need to involve him more.”

This week, the Packers take on the Giants, who have allowed 117.5 rushing yards per game, 11th-most in the NFL. Following that is a matchup with Washington, a defense that has allowed 137.6 rushing yards per game, which is the fifth-most this season.

When given opportunities this season, Jones has delivered.

Jamaal Williams has a role to play as the complementary back, but it’s time to give Jones a featured role in the final five weeks. LaFleur seems to think the same, and with a bigger role, Jones could have a dominant final month of the regular season. And that would be great news for the Packers’ chances of winning the division. And that brings me perfectly onto the next point.
