3. Dallas Cowboys (vs. Rams)

The Dallas Cowboys couldn’t help the Packers out last week against the Bears, but they have another opportunity when they take on the red-hot Los Angeles Rams.

The Rams are heating up at the right time and were dominant in their victory over the Seahawks last week. With an 8-5 record, they are right back in the mix for a wild-card berth.

Here’s why this game is important for the Packers: they will clinch a playoff berth this week if they can beat the Bears with the Rams also losing to the Cowboys. Green Bay would have achieved its goal of returning to the postseason. The Packers would secure a wild-card berth at the least.

Of course, the Packers can achieve that goal simply by winning two more games without the need for the Rams to lose. But as fans, it’d be great to know a ticket to the postseason was already secured after this weekend.

If the Rams continue to build momentum, and victories, in the final weeks of the season, they could earn a wild-card berth ahead of the Packers or Vikings. It’s unlikely Green Bay will lose enough games for that to happen, but it’s not completely out of the question.

A Packers and Cowboys win this weekend would make it official. The Pack would be back in the playoffs.
