Packers: Five takeaways from divisional-round win vs. Seahawks
2. Adams has the best game of his career
Davante Adams has made a number of incredible plays for the Packers over the years, many of which were in the playoffs. But of all his great performances, this one against the Seahawks ranks at number one. Adams caught eight passes for 160 yards and two touchdowns, setting a franchise record for single-game receiving yards in the playoffs.
He ran a beautiful route on the game’s opening touchdown, giving the Packers the fast start they needed. Adams then restored the team’s 18-point lead with another impressive catch-and-run. His ability to stop and change direction caused the defender to lose his balance, and Adams strolled into the end zone for a crucial 40-yard touchdown.
As noted earlier, he also made an excellent catch from Rodgers on third down on the game-clinching drive. Without that play, the Seahawks would’ve got the ball back and the game could’ve ended very differently.
The Packers needed their star receiver to step up and have a big game, and he put together an all-time great postseason performance. Not only did he make crucial plays at important moments but he also set a new franchise record.
Considering a trip to the NFC Championship Game was on the line, this performance was Adams’ best in a career filled with dominant performances.
