2. Draft a receiver in the first round

The Packers have been notorious for drafting receivers in the second round. They’ve landed Jordy Nelson, Greg Jennings, Randall Cobb, and Davante Adams all in the second round. In fact, they haven’t drafted a receiver in the first round since they drafted Javon Walker in 2002.

I think Packer fans want that to change this year. With such a glaring dropoff from Adams at the receiver position that it’s noticeable to even the most casual fan. It’s easy for fans to see that and expect the Packers to take a receiver who can play and make an impact immediately. On top of that, this receiver group in the draft is possibly one of the best groups ever.

With the Packers drafting as late as they are, 30th overall, there’s no way the top tier receivers like Jerry Jeudy and CeeDee Lamb will be available. But, that doesn’t mean a quality player won’t fall to them, the question is whether they would pull the trigger or wait until Day 2 because the depth at the position is so great.

However, there are a few players I think could fall to 30 that would intrigue the Packers. A receiver I’d love the Packers to take is Laviska Shenault, out of Colorado. Shenault is not necessarily your typical receiver. He’s a swiss army knife. He can do a lot of things and I think LaFleur could use him in a similar way that Kyle Shanahan used Deebo Samuel, and the Packers remember how many times he burned them on end-around plays and picked up big yardage.

Other receivers I would like to see the Packers take at 30 would be Justin Jefferson out of LSU or Jalen Reagor out of TCU. My gut is telling me they will try to get a linebacker in round one first, but if all of their round one targets are off the board by then, look for them to draft a receiver.
