Grading each Green Bay Packers position group ahead of free agency.

Free agency begins in just under a month. It’s the first step in adding talent to the roster. The Green Bay Packers were a playoff team in 2019 and came close to ending their decade-long wait of returning to the Super Bowl. To get there next season, they’ll need to address their top needs and continue to strengthen the roster.

There are always ways to improve the roster, even during the season, as the Packers did by signing Tyler Ervin and Jared Veldheer late in 2019. Prior to the trade deadline, deals can also be made with other teams. But the most important time to build the roster is in free agency and the draft. This starts in March with free agency, and the Packers will then enter the draft with nine selections in April.

A good way to assess where the Packers are strongest and need improvements is by looking at each position group one by one. So with just a few weeks to go until free agency, that’s what we’re going to do here, by handing out positional grades.

Note: Pending free agents don’t factor into the grades. For example, as Bryan Bulaga is a free agent, the offensive line grade has been determined without Bulaga on the depth chart.
