2. No. 2 and No. 3 wide receivers

Davante Adams is the Packers’ clear number one receiver. After that is where the conversation begins.

Matt LaFleur praised Allen Lazard during his interview with the media on Tuesday. Lazard will be part of the wide receiver corps in 2020 and, for now, would be a top candidate for either the No. 2 or No. 3 job. But things could look completely different a few months down the line depending on what the Packers do this offseason.

According to Jason Wilde of The Athletic, GM Brian Gutekunst said the Packers will “put an emphasis on” addressing the wide receiver position this offseason.

When edge rusher was a need, Gutekunst spent big to sign the Smith Bros. and drafted Rashan Gary in the first round. When safety was a need, he signed Adrian Amos in the first week of free agency then traded up for Darnell Savage in the first round. In 2018, with cornerback the top need, he used his top two draft picks at the position.

Now that Gutekunst has said that wide receiver is a position they will look to address, it won’t be surprising if he uses multiple draft picks or signs a free agent.

The depth chart will likely look different in the summer than it does now. With the exception of Adams as Aaron Rodgers‘ top target, nothing is certain at wide receiver.
